Cosmetic Composite Bonding & Recontouring
Consider cosmetic composite bonding and recontouring to smooth the contours of sharp, jagged, or broken teeth. Cosmetic composite bonding and recontouring require less of an investment (time and money) than more extensive options like veneers or crowns. Though not suited for all situations, cosmetic bonding and recontouring may be the ideal path to your beautiful smile.
Often, Dr. Jarvis performs cosmetic composite bonding in conjunction with recontouring. Bonding can quickly repair chips and cracks, close gaps between teeth, or permanently whiten deeply stained teeth. Dr. Jarvis will apply custom-shaded composite resin to the affected tooth, then sculpt the resin to look natural and beautiful. The restoration will be hardened with a curing light, then buffed smooth.
Contouring involves reshaping a tooth, or teeth, to alter appearance and can often be completed without anesthesia. When patients select contouring to soften sharp or jagged edges, it is amazing how much younger a smile can appear.
